Uniken Raises $4.85 Million Funding From Nexus

Uniken has announced that it has raised $4.85 million funding from Nexus Venture Partners. This is the second round of funding for Uniken, a leading digital  security technology company is based out of Pune, India and Odessa, Florida. Sandeep Singhal, MD, Nexus Venture Partners who will be joining Uniken’s board.

They had previously raised $1 million in venture capital in the US according to this SEC filing.

The funds raised in the this round of funding will be utilized to expand to global markets, especially in US and Israel.

Uniken offers digital security solutions to leading banks and financial institutions across the world, and currently has a base of over one million users.

Uniken has developed a proprietary REL-ID security platform that offers military grade security and features like biometric authentication that help enterprises to secure their data and transactions. Uniken competes in this space with the likes of RSA and Symantec.

Gopi Gopalan, Chairman of Uniken Board said on funding, “We are seeing rapid adoption of our path breaking REL-ID platform which provides secure, rich and consistent experience with simplified infrastructure and low investment. With this round of funding, we expect to further leverage the massive market opportunity and accelerate our growth.”

The company was started in 2003 by 4 senior professionals – Sanjay Deshpande, Nanjundeshwar Ganapathy, Prakash Salvi & Nilesh Dhande –  from Infosys, GE, TCS & Motorola in Boston (USA). In 2004, the company set up it’s innovation center in Pune, India.
