EPFO or the Employee Provident Fund Organization is bringing sweeping changes in the way they handle provident fund accounts of over 5 crores employees across India. Couple of months back they enabled online transfer of provident funds when an employee moves from one company to other which will brought down the transfer time from 30 days to just 3 days.
Now, EPFO has launched a facility that will allow employees to view updated accounts online on real time basis without waiting for their annual PF account slips. Till now, employees had to wait for a long time (generally they are given their PF account slips once in a year) to know the balance of their PF accounts.
Now with the launch of online facility, the employees need to just login to their account on EPFO website and view their account details and balance, which are updated on real-time basis. This facility will also help employees in settling various claims well in time.
How to get PF Passbook Online?
To get started, employees first need to visit EPFO website and register themselves by clicking on “member portal link”. For registration, members will have to fill up quick form where they will have to provide a valid ID document, the document number, mobile number, DoB and you email ID. A pin will be sent to member’s mobile number. Once the pin is authorized, member’s account is created.
Registered members can then login to the portal and choose the state and establishment under which their PF account is registered along with their account number. If the Passbook statement is available, the member will get a PIN on their mobile and on entry of pin they will be provided with the link to their passbook which can be downloaded and saved on the computer.
The PF passbook will have all the transactions that have been made on the member’s account since the account was created by the establishment.
