Blinkit, the grocery division of Zomato, entered the quick meal delivery industry with the release of the Bistro app.

As of December 6, 2024, Bistro is accessible on the Google Play Store, and an iOS release is planned shortly.

Within ten minutes, the app promises to bring meals, snacks, and drinks.

Blinkit To Deliver Food, Snacks, Drinks Within Ten Minutes

Competition in the quick meal delivery market was highlighted by the near timing of Bistro’s launch and Zepto’s release of its own app for Zepto Cafe.

According to the Google Play description of the app, Bistro uses “highly optimized processes” and “strategically located” cloud kitchens to fulfill its 10-minute delivery guarantee.

In contrast, Zepto Cafe is growing through physical locations and intends to create more than 100 new cafés per month, according to Aadit Palicha, CEO of Zepto.

Comparison To Swiggy’s Bolt, Bistro, and Zepto Cafe

Together with Swiggy’s Bolt, Bistro and Zepto Cafe concentrate on providing fast snacks and prepared foods such as coffee, pastries, samosas, sandwiches, and pizzas.

According to reports, Zepto Cafe processes 30,000 orders every day, while Swiggy’s Bolt receives 5% of its total orders from the 10-minute delivery sector.

The “next growth frontier” in the meal delivery sector, according to Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal and Swiggy CEO Sriharsha Majety, is the 10-minute food delivery category.

After Zomato Instant, its previous 10-minute delivery service, was shut down, Bistro is Zomato’s second effort at rapid meal delivery, but Blinkit’s first.

Blinkit Will Now Deliver High Value Items In 30 Minutes Via Express Dark Stores

As per media reports, Blinkit is reportedly developing a new category of high-value items that will be delivered in 30 minutes. The Zomato-owned quick commerce platform, which has made its name for its famous 10-minute grocery deliveries, is now looking to diversify into new domains to help increase its profitability.

As per the reports, the sources who are privy to these developments said that the company is already gearing up to establish ‘express dark stores’ which will be used to deliver products like instant water heaters, jewellery, air purifier, and other high-value goods in 30 minutes.
