Within a year of launching the world’s thinnest foldable smartphone, the Mix Fold 2, Xiaomi is launching the Mix Fold 3.
Commencing with the device’s dimensions, the Mix Fold 3 is even sleeker than its predecessor, measuring only 5.26mm when unfolded and 10.89mm when folded.
The reduction in size was achieved through the implementation of a novel vertically stacked motherboard by Xiaomi’s engineers.

Furthermore, Xiaomi has innovated a completely new proprietary hinge, comprising of 198 components, which occupies 17% less internal space. This enhanced hinge features a 3-element structure along with 14 micro-hinges that securely enclose the main folding display, contributing to improved durability.
Additionally, a carbon ceramic steel rotating mechanism has been integrated into the hinge. A notable feature of this new hinge design is the support for a hover opening angle of 45° to 135°, allowing users to position the phone like a mini laptop.
Display
The Mix Fold 3 is equipped with dual E6 OLED displays. The primary 8.03-inch LTPO panel boasts a resolution of 1,960 x 2,160px, and it supports a variable refresh rate of 120Hz. This panel features Ultra Thin Glass (UTG) and offers support for HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. On the exterior, there is a 6.56-inch LTPO OLED display, which is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and can achieve up to 2,560 nits peak brightness in auto mode.
Camera
Regarding its camera capabilities, Xiaomi has outfitted the Mix Fold 3 with a quad-camera system featuring Leica optics. The primary camera is a 50MP Sony IMX800 sensor (equivalent to 23mm), complemented by OIS. Additionally, there’s a 12MP ultrawide module (equivalent to 15mm) and two telephoto modules – a 10MP telephoto lens (75mm) with 3x zoom and a 10MP periscope module (115mm) capable of 5x optical zoom. Both telephoto modules are equipped with OIS.

Under the hood, the Mix Fold 3 is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and offers configurations of up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. The device houses a larger 4,800mAh battery, featuring the same 67W wired charging as the Mix Fold 2, but now accompanied by an additional 50W wireless charging option.
