Roland Quandt’s Twitter Leak: Nothing Phone (2a) Details Revealed with MediaTek Dimensity 7200 SoC and Pricing Insights
Roland Quandt recently provided additional details about the phone via Twitter/X, disclosing its use of the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 SoC. As per the leaked information, the expected cost of the phone is around €400 in Europe. The post also delved into various models offering distinct memory configurations.
The Phone (2a), priced below €400, is slated to come with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, whereas the more expensive variant, projected to surpass €400, is anticipated to boast 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. Nonetheless, information regarding the latter model is currently limited.
Analysing Pricing and Features of the Nothing Phone (2a)
Regarding the release in the US, pricing details are currently unavailable. With €400 converting to approximately $444, this seems like a reasonable price point for an entry-level device like the Nothing Phone (2a). A slightly higher price of $500 would also be deemed acceptable for a phone equipped with 12GB of RAM, especially considering that the Nothing Phone (2) was launched at $599, which is double the rumored base price of the Phone (2a).
Previous leaks have provided insights into the Nothing Phone (2a), mentioning two 50MP cameras and a 1080p AMOLED display measuring around 6.7 inches. However, the lower price tag implies certain trade-offs, including a midrange processor, cameras that may not be top-tier, and an FHD+ panel. These compromises suggest that the device’s performance may align with other budget phones in the market, although only time will reveal the full extent.
Rumors suggest that the official announcement of the Nothing Phone (2a) will take place during MWC in February.
