Vivo X Fold 5 Costing Rs 83,000 Has Triple 50MP Camera, 1TB Storage

Vivo officially unveiled the X Fold 5, its latest flagship foldable smartphone, in China on Wednesday, continuing its push in the premium foldable segment and aiming to compete with rivals like Samsung in the growing market for flexible-display devices.

It is a book-style foldable phone with a 6.53-inch outer display and an 8.03-inch inner flexible display.

Both displays use 8T LTPO panels and support up to 4,500 nits of local peak brightness.

The Vivo X Fold 5 is thinner and lighter than the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro.

It includes a Zeiss-supported triple rear camera setup and two 20-megapixel selfie cameras.

The phone is rated IPX8+IPX9+IPX9+ for water resistance and IP5X for dust protection.

Pricing starts at CNY 6,999 (about Rs. 83,800) for the 12GB RAM + 256GB model.

The 12GB + 512GB version is priced at CNY 7,999 (around Rs. 96,000).

The 16GB + 512GB variant costs CNY 8,499 (about Rs. 1,02,000).

The top-end 16GB + 1TB model is priced at CNY 9,499 (about Rs. 1,14,000).

It will be available in Baibai (green), Quingsong (white), and Titanium (black) color options.

Vivo X Fold 5 to Go on Sale in China Starting July 2

Sales in China begin on July 2 via Vivo’s official online store and select e-commerce platforms.

The inner and outer displays offer a 120Hz refresh rate and TÜV Rheinland eye protection certification.

Both screens also support Zeiss Master colour tuning and high-frequency PWM dimming.

The phone runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, the same as in the X Fold 3 Pro.

It offers up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS4.1 internal storage.

It comes with Android 15-based OriginOS 5.

The triple rear camera setup features a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom.

The telephoto lens also supports macro photography capabilities.

Both front-facing cameras on the inner and outer screens are 20MP each.

Vivo confirmed the X Fold 5 is compatible with Apple devices and services, including iPhone, AirPods, MacBook, Apple Watch, and iCloud.

Users can sync and access data across Apple’s ecosystem with this phone.

It is powered by a 6,000mAh battery supporting 80W wired and 40W wireless charging.

The phone is built for durability, with water and dust resistance ratings and functionality at temperatures as low as -20°C.

Security features include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

The Vivo X Fold 5 weighs 217 grams.

Its thickness is approximately 9.2mm when folded and 4.3mm when unfolded.
