Indian Railways is preparing to launch the much-awaited Vande Bharat Sleeper Train, a new high-speed overnight option between Delhi and Howrah. Built by BEML using ICF technology, this train was unveiled by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in September 2024 and promises to change how India travels long distances.

Speed Meets Comfort: Travel 1,449 Km in Under 15 Hours
Capable of running at 160–180 km/h, the Vande Bharat Sleeper will cover the Delhi-Howrah route in under 15 hours, making it the fastest train on this corridor—beating both the Rajdhani and Duronto Express.

The train will halt at important junctions, including:
- Kanpur Central
- Prayagraj Junction
- DD Upadhyaya Junction
- Gaya Junction
- Dhanbad Junction
- Asansol Junction

Designed with passenger comfort in mind, the train will feature 16 coaches, including:
- 11 AC 3-tier coaches for budget travelers
- 4 AC 2-tier coaches for more comfort
- 1 First-Class AC coach for luxury travel

Even with its premium offerings, the train remains cost-effective:
- AC 3-tier: ₹3,000 (approx.)
- AC 2-tier: ₹4,000 (approx.)
