Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL), a city gas distributor, has assured continuous supply of Piped Natural Gas (PNG) for homes and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) for vehicles across its operational regions in Maharashtra and Karnataka.

In addition, the company has rolled out several incentives for both domestic and commercial PNG users to promote wider adoption of natural gas.
MGL Assures Uninterrupted PNG and CNG Supply Across Maharashtra and Karnataka
At the same time, under the Natural Gas (Supply Regulation) Order dated 9 March 2026, domestic PNG and CNG have been classified as top-priority sectors, reinforcing their importance.
Following this, MGL stated that it has taken steps to ensure steady and safe fuel availability for customers across all its geographical areas, including Mumbai, Thane, Mira-Bhayander, Navi Mumbai, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Chitradurg, Davengere, Latur, and Dharashiv.
Alongside supply assurance, the company introduced customer-focused schemes to boost PNG usage across these regions.
For domestic users, MGL is offering free gas worth ₹500 for new registrations made between 16 March and 30 April 2026.
Moreover, customers in new buildings with over 60% PNG adoption will receive a ₹1,000 adjustment in their gas bills.
In addition, a ₹500 instant discount is being provided for online registrations, along with a waiver of minimum charges during periods when gas is not used.
MGL Plans Zero Upfront Cost for PNG Connections with Flexible Payment Options
The company is also planning to introduce zero upfront registration costs, allowing customers to pay only after conversion, along with multiple payment options.
For commercial users, MGL has waived registration fees and will also invest in downstream infrastructure at its own expense.
These initiatives are intended to make PNG more accessible while ensuring consistent service quality and reliability.
As stated, “MGL remains focussed on delivering dependable solutions that support households and business establishments alike.”
Meanwhile, Managing Director Ashu Shinghal emphasised the company’s commitment, saying, “At MGL, we remain committed to seamless delivery of PNG and CNG and are working continuously to enhance our efforts to meet the ever-changing needs of our customers. These initiatives and benefits reflect our vision and belief of expanding the reach of natural gas, which is essential for our nation’s transition to cleaner fuel.”
In addition, MGL issued an advisory to customers to stay alert and avoid fraud related to PNG services.
Finally, the company stated that it will continue strengthening its infrastructure and customer engagement efforts to ensure reliable supply and improved service across all its operating regions.
