The Indian automotive market is set to witness a surge in the launch of new 7-seater SUVs and MPVs in the remaining months of this year. Leading automakers like Renault, Kia, Mahindra, and MG are gearing up to introduce fresh models that span various price segments and fuel options, from internal combustion to electric.

Upcoming 7-Seater MPVs: Renault Triber Facelift and Kia Clavis EV

Renault will soon unveil an updated version of the Triber MPV, spotted earlier under camouflage. The facelift is expected to feature minor design changes, such as updated headlamps and DRLs, while retaining the same rear layout. Mechanically, the Triber will continue with the existing 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine, offering a budget-friendly choice in the segment.

Kia is preparing to launch the Clavis, a more premium version of the Carens, and its electric variant is expected to follow shortly. Likely sharing components with the Creta EV, the Clavis EV may offer two battery pack options with a claimed range of up to 450 km on a full charge.

Mahindra XEV 7e and MG M9: New Electric and Premium 7-Seater Launches

The Mahindra XEV 7e, based on the XUV.e8 concept, draws heavy styling cues from the XUV700. It is expected to be built on the INGLO platform and could feature battery options similar to those of the XEV 9e and BE 6. Initially launched as a six-seater, a seven-seater variant is likely to arrive later.

MG’s M9 MPV is ready for its India debut and will be sold through MG Select showrooms. Bookings are already open at ₹51,000. Positioned as a premium MPV, it comes with a 90 kWh battery pack delivering a WLTP range of 430 km, and will offer a host of high-end features.

MG Majestor: Premium Full-Size SUV with Upgraded Features Coming in 2025

The MG Majestor, built on the Maxus D90 platform, is expected to launch in H2 2025. Positioned above the Gloster, this full-size SUV will carry over Gloster’s engine and transmission options, but with significant upgrades in equipment and features.

These launches highlight the growing focus on premium features and electric mobility in the 7-seater segment.

Summary:

The Indian automotive market will see several new 7-seater SUVs and MPVs in late 2023, with models from Renault, Kia, Mahindra, and MG. Highlights include the Renault Triber Facelift, Kia Clavis EV, Mahindra XEV 7e, MG M9, and MG Majestor, focusing on premium features and electric mobility.
