Top 5 Upcoming Hyundai SUVs, EVs For Indian Market

Over the course of the next 18 to 24 months, Hyundai India intends to introduce a number of new automobiles, including global models and generational upgrades to its current SUV lineup.

With the January release of the Creta EV, the company kicked off 2024, and it is getting ready to introduce more cars throughout the year and beyond.

Third-Generation Hyundai Venue:

  • Expected to launch in the second half of 2024.
  • Spy shots indicate major design, feature, and safety upgrades.
  • Likely to offer Level 2 ADAS in top variants.
  • Will retain existing engine options: 1.2L MPI petrol, 1.0L turbo petrol, and 1.5L diesel.
  • Current transmission choices will continue.

Affordable Small Family EV (codenamed HE1i):

  • Set for launch in second half of 2026.
  • Built on the E-GMP (K) platform, it targets competitors like the Tata Punch EV and Citroen eC3.
  • Based on the Hyundai Inster small SUV.
  • To be developed locally in Chennai.
  • Expected to have two battery options and a range of 300+ km per charge.

Third-Generation Hyundai Creta (codenamed SX3):

  • Tentative launch planned for 2027.
  • Local production will continue at Chennai facility.
  • May include a strong hybrid powertrain in higher variants.
  • No major changes expected to the current petrol and diesel engine lineup or transmission options.

New 7-Seater Hybrid SUV (codenamed Ni1i):

  • Launch expected in the first half of 2027.
  • Will be positioned between Tucson and Alcazar.
  • Locally produced at the Talegaon plant in Maharashtra, recently acquired from GM.
  • Will be Hyundai’s first 7-seater petrol-hybrid SUV.
  • Will compete with Tata Safari and Mahindra XUV700.

2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 Facelift:

  • The Ioniq 5 facelift had its global debut in March 2024.
  • Indian launch expected soon.
  • Includes updated steering wheel, new physical switches, and a larger 84 kWh battery.
  • Offers a driving range of 515 km (WLTP).
  • Likely to be priced around ₹50 lakh (ex-showroom) in India.
