The Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government has unveiled a generous new subsidy scheme to enhance the state’s highway travel experience. The plan targets the development of roadside amenities such as dhabas, food plazas, motels, and air-conditioned toilet complexes across national and state highways, expressways, and major tourist routes.

Up to 30 Percent Subsidy for New Projects
Under this scheme, entrepreneurs and investors can receive up to 30 percent capital expenditure subsidy for setting up eligible facilities. The initiative is designed to make road travel more convenient while generating fresh employment and boosting local entrepreneurship in the hospitality sector.
Private Landowners Also Eligible
The scheme encourages the use of private land—such as existing fuel stations, marriage lawns, or any viable plot—for building roadside amenities. In a further move to cut costs, the government has waived stamp duty and registration fees for land purchased specifically for these projects.
Upgrades for Existing Roadside Facilities
The benefits are not limited to new establishments. Existing dhabas and rest stops can also access subsidies to upgrade their infrastructure. Supported improvements include clean toilet units (separate for men and women), a toilet for differently abled visitors, children’s play zones, RO water systems, modular kitchens, and storage facilities like freezers.
Visibility and Marketing Support from Tourism Department
To maximise reach and tourist engagement, the state’s Tourism Department will promote registered facilities with road signboards, glow signs, and listings on the official tourism website. This gives participating establishments valuable visibility across UP’s growing travel circuit.
Register Online Before the Deadline
Entrepreneurs, dhaba owners, and other interested parties can register their projects via the Tourism Department’s online portal. The last date to apply under this scheme is May 25. With strong financial incentives and government backing, this is a prime opportunity to invest in Uttar Pradesh’s booming travel infrastructure.
