Ola Electric is working on its first electric car and its patent image has been leaked which gives a look at its exterior design.
Production
The company said it will manufacture batteries and some components in-house with plans to invest in their Tamil Nadu plant to produce electric cars.
In brief
The overall design resembles that of a Tesla, being quite ambitious with a futuristic appeal.
It gets a four-door coupe body style that is said to have a drag coefficient of less than 0.21.
It has a swooping roofline with flared wheel arches at the back.
Design
The design is a minimalistic one with fewer lines and clean surfaces.
On the front there is not much to speak about except for slim LED headlights and a couple of air vents.
Features
The vehicle will have assisted driving capabilities and keyless and handleless doors.
It will feature the company’s MoveOS software which offers over-the-air update capability.
Acceleration, range
The company claims the EV will be able to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in under 4 seconds and will offer a maximum range of over 500 km.
Debut
The Chief Financial Officer of Ola Electric, GR Arun Kumar has confirmed that the four-wheeler will launch in the second-half of 2024.
Pricing, competition
The pricing is said to be below Rs. 40 lakhs.
This will put it up against the likes of Hyundai Ioniq 5 and the Kia EV6.
