With the growing popularity of electric scooters in the Indian market, Honda has rolled its sleeves and the company was caught testing a green registration number, which implies a new electric scooter called the Benly e with a test registration number last year.
Honda Benly E-scooter
Revealed in the Tokyo Motor Show in 2019, Honda Benly E-scooter aims to target logistics and pick-up and delivery services. It has a twin-battery design with each battery size has a capacity of 0.99 kWh.
Since these two batteries can be switched out, this feature reduces the amount of time needed to charge electric vehicles and spares users from the inconvenience of needless waiting.
Variants and Specifications
Available in 4 trims globally, Benly e I, Benly e I Pro, Benly e II, and Benly e II Pro – with a top speed of 60 kmph, the maximum charge of the scooter on a single charge is 87 kilometres.
Though there is no official confirmation about this, but the electric scooter is reportedly being tested for swappable battery technology.
It can be utilised by the company in its first electric scooter.
The base model from Honda comes with a 2.8 kW electric motor, while the more powerful models feature a 4.2 kW electric motor. All models come with two removable 48V batteries.
