According to a recent claim, Apple might give the iPhone 16 more RAM and/or storage as a result of on-device AI. This information was provided by a tipster going by the name Revegnus, who referenced a Korean security firm.

Thanks To AI, iPhone 16 Will Have Extra RAM And/Or Storage: Find Out Why?

Apple To Give  iPhone 16 more RAM and Storage

To meet the demands of on-device AI, Apple might have to increase RAM, storage, or both. While it was first believed that boosting RAM to 8GB or higher would be sufficient, NAND flash use might require additional storage.

Therefore, 256GB of storage may be included in the iPhone 16’s base model. Although improvements in RAM and storage are what users would prefer to see, that is still up for debate.

The cheapest models of the iPhone 15 come with 6GB of RAM, while the ‘Pro’ models already have 8GB. It is anticipated that the iPhone 16 series will launch later in the year, most likely in September. There will likely be four models in the range, consisting of base and ‘Pro’ versions.

New Models To Come With Considerable Redesign

It is not anticipated that the new models would result in a considerable redesign. The base versions might not have larger displays; only the “Pro” models might. The Tetraprism lens, which debuted with the iPhone 15 Pro Max, is allegedly coming to the iPhone 16 Pro.

It is expected that this lens upgrade will improve the iPhone 16 Pro models’ photographic performance. It is anticipated that the iPhone 16 lineup’s general design would remain consistent with earlier models.

The base iPhone 16 models’ increased RAM and storage could enhance device performance. For on-device AI apps to function well, a lot of resources are frequently needed. Adjustments to NAND flash utilization for more RAM may be necessary to meet the demands for more storage.

The choice Apple makes about RAM and storage upgrades will probably affect what people buy.
