Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has restructured its AI.Cloud unit into two standalone business divisions—Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Cloud. This move highlights TCS’s strategic push to unlock greater value in two of the fastest-growing areas of enterprise technology.

Formed two years ago, the AI.Cloud unit had been growing faster than TCS’s average pace. With demand surging in both domains, the restructuring allows for a sharper focus, quicker decision-making, and dedicated leadership in each vertical.

New Leadership for AI and Cloud Divisions

  • Siva Ganesan now leads the AI and Data unit, which will serve as the core of TCS’s AI-related strategy.
  • Krishna Mohan, previously deputy head of AI.Cloud, is now the head of the Cloud business.
  • Ashok Krish becomes Global Head of AI, and Satish Byravan takes over as Global Head of Data.

AI + Data = Integrated Solutions
TCS has bundled data into the AI vertical, acknowledging that effective AI depends heavily on robust data infrastructure. Many clients, according to company leaders, need guidance on data maturity before implementing AI—giving TCS the opportunity to offer end-to-end AI-data solutions.

Talent Development and Hiring in Full Swing
To support this expansion, TCS is:

  • Hiring specialist AI talent
  • Launching revamped internal training programs
  • Centralizing AI resources to improve scalability and innovation

Cloud Focus Remains Strong
The Cloud vertical, now an independent business unit, will continue to address growing enterprise demand for scalable and secure cloud solutions. TCS believes this separation will enhance agility and domain specialization, key in an era where cloud is foundational to digital transformation.

Driving Growth in the Digital Economy
With the split, TCS aims to capture exponential growth opportunities and align its structure with the evolving digital economy. Officials emphasize that this transformation is not just timely, but inevitable, given how AI and Cloud are reshaping industries globally.

TCS is betting big on the future of intelligent enterprises, and this move signals its commitment to staying ahead of the curve.
