Tata Nexon CNG To Come With Two Gearboxes
The Tiago and Tigor CNG, India’s first CNG automatic automobiles, were later unveiled by Tata Motors, who had previously pioneered dual CNG cylinder technology.
The Nexon CNG, India’s first turbo-petrol CNG vehicle, is now available from Tata Motors.
The 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine of the Nexon CNG will have 118 horsepower and 170 Nm of torque while running in conventional gasoline mode.
For the CNG version, there will be a small decrease in power output.
Tata will provide a wide range of powertrain options, including CNG, diesel, gasoline, and electric, in addition to the Nexon CNG.
Earlier in January 2024, Tata Motors displayed the Nexon CNG at the Bharat Mobility Expo.
It is anticipated that the Nexon CNG will soon be available with a manual or automatic gearbox.
The Nexon’s appearance and feature set will be comparable to that of its gasoline-powered sibling.
It is anticipated that the Nexon CNG will cost up to Rs. 80,000 more than the base petrol model.
In the small SUV market, the Nexon CNG will face off against the Maruti Suzuki Brezza CNG.
Tata Nexon CNG To Be Launched With AMT Gearbox
There will be two gearbox options for the Tata Nexon CNG: an AMT unit and a five-speed manual.
The Nexon CNG’s 1.2-liter gasoline engine will undergo minor tuning specifically for CNG operation.
The provision of manual and AMT options affords consumers ease and flexibility.
Dealer sources attest to the Nexon CNG’s introduction of both gearbox options.
As a result, the Nexon will be the only small SUV in its class with options for an electric, CNG, diesel, and gasoline powertrain.
The Nexon CNG will continue to have the same features and design as its petrol counterpart, despite the additional fuel option.
