While expanding its existing fleet portfolio, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles has introduced Petrol and Twin-Cylinder CNG variants of its Xpres Tigor taxi sedan.

Tata Xpres & CNG Launch Details

Prior to this it was only available as an electric sedan, but now the Xpres range includes internal combustion engine (ICE) options, supporting Tata’s multi-powertrain approach for fleet operators.

Tata motors has launched the Xpres Petrol at an introductory price of Rs 5.59 lakh (ex-showroom), while the CNG variant starts at Rs 6.59 lakh (ex-showroom).

Considering the prices, it positions them as competitively priced options among fleet sedans in their categories.

Both of these models use Tata’s 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine paired with a manual transmission and the unit puts out 86 hp of power and 113 Nm of peak torque.

So far the power figures for the CNG kit have not been revealed yet but as expected, these units are built for high-usage commercial applications, with design priorities on durability, reliability, and low operating costs, essential for fleet owners managing daily operations.

Its petrol version comes with a boot capacity of 419 litres where the boot space for the CNG variant hasn’t been disclosed, but it comes equipped with twin cylinders that have a 70-litre water capacity.

In addition to this, the configuration occupies less boot space than a single large CNG tank.

Tata Xpres Interiors & Other Specifications

The ICE-powered Xpres is mounted on 14-inch steel wheels similar to the Xpres-T EV, although they feature black covers rather than silver ones.

Now coming to the interiors, the Xpres has a dual-tone cabin unlike the all-black interior of the EV. Please note that it does not include an audio system, which is available in the electric model.

Usually, Tata provides a standard warranty of 3 years or 1,00,000 km which can be extendable to 5 years or 1,80,000 km.

Tata motors will be providing flexible finance options  and the company has set up fleet-specific dealerships in select cities for sales and service.

Following this launch, Tata’s competitor follows similar fleet-focused initiatives by competitors such as Hyundai, Toyota, and Maruti Suzuki, which have introduced dedicated commercial vehicles.

This launch of Petrol and CNG variants broadens XPRES accessibility beyond electric models, catering to operators preferring traditional fuels amid varying infrastructure availability.

If you are looking for the availability details and full specifications, it will be shared through Tata’s fleet dealership network.
