Tata Launches Its 1st Pure Electric Vehicle: Starting Rs 10.99 Lakh, Punch EV Assures Upto 421 Kms Range!

Tata Motors’s subsidiary,  Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd (TPEM) has introduced its first ever fully electrically powered vehicle, the Punch.ev.

Punch.ev Prices And Variants

The Punch.ev SUV will be launched with a starting price of Rs. 10.99 lakh and goes up to Rs. 14.49 lakh depending upon its five variants – Smart, Smart+, Adventure, Empowered, and Empowered+. Here is a complete list of variantwise prices of the Tata Punch.ev:

  • Smart – Rs 10.99 lakh
  • Smart+ – Rs 11.49 lakh
  • Adventure – Rs 11.99 lakh
  • Adventure LR – Rs 12.99 lakh
  • Empowered – Rs 12.79 lakh
  • Empowered LR – Rs 13.99 lakh
  • Empowered+ – Rs 13.29 lakh
  • Empowered+ LR – Rs 14.49 lakh

Deliveries of the car will begin on January 22; however, prebookings have already begun with a booking amount of Rs. 21000.

Battery

The company will offer two battery options on the car. First is a 25 kWh battery pack that claims a range of 315 km and the other is the Long Range (LR) version that comes with a 35 kWh battery and a range of 421 km.

The company also provides a 7.2 kW fast home charger and a 3.3 kW wall box charger. However, the former is exclusively available for the LR variant.

Tata’s Acti.Ev Platform

The Punch EV has been built on the Acti.Ev platform, and is the first one to be developed on the platform. Acti.Ev is a platform developed by Tata specifically for its electric vehicles, with an aim to boost production volume and efficiency.

As per Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Limited & Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Limited, “Witnessing a 100-fold growth in four years, since inception, EVs are now mainstream. As a testament to Tata’s commitment to democratizing EVs, the Punch.ev is set to redefine standards, creating a paradigm shift beyond the needs of today and tomorrow.”

Features

The features on the Punch.eV will be a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, wireless charging pad, ventilated front seats, air purifier, electronic parking brake, 360-degree camera, single-pane sunroof, cruise control, blind spot monitor, and six airbags.
