Tata has recently secured a new trademark in India called Frest, which is expected to be the chosen name for the production model of the Tata CURVV concept.
The CURVV is an innovative SUV concept introduced by Tata at the 2023 Auto Expo, where it garnered significant attention.
Tata’s New Trademark Called Frest
Distinguished by its striking design featuring sharp edges and a distinctive coupe-like shape, the CURVV combines the ruggedness and durability of an SUV with the sporty silhouette of a coupe.
Initially, the CURVV is anticipated to be launched as a petrol-powered SUV, but there are strong indications that an electric powertrain option will be made available shortly afterward. Additionally, there have been rumors suggesting the possibility of a compressed natural gas (CNG) variant of the CURVV, given the market’s inclination away from diesel vehicles in 2024.
If the Frest is indeed the production version of the CURVV, it will undoubtedly feature one of the most daring and unconventional designs on Indian roads.
While it remains uncertain how much of the CURVV’s design and features will be retained in the Frest, Tata Motors has generally remained faithful to the original concept versions. However, it is likely that certain extreme design elements will be refined to align with production constraints.
Frest Might Not Be The Definitive Name For CURVV
Moreover, it is worth noting that the Frest may not necessarily be the definitive name for the CURVV. Tata could potentially register multiple names and decide on the most suitable option at a later stage. With the launch scheduled for 2024, there is ample time for market research to determine which name resonates most with potential buyers.
An interesting feature showcased in the CURVV was its two-spoke steering wheel, which is expected to be adopted in other upcoming Tata models. Speculation suggests that both the upcoming Tata Nexon facelift and the Punch electric car will incorporate this unique steering wheel design.
The Frest is set to make its debut before the highly anticipated Tata Sierra EV. The Sierra EV concept received overwhelming acclaim at the 2023 Expo and will be available in both internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric vehicle (EV) versions.
