Taiwan’s National Development Council Launches First Ever Digital Nomad Visa
Taiwan’s National Development Council announced the digital nomad visa last summer in an effort to draw in overseas digital workers and strengthen the nation’s economy and tourism.
Taiwan intends to implement initiatives including investment and entrepreneurship opportunities to further incentivize digital nomads.
To facilitate travel between these locations, collaboration has been planned with South Korea and Japan, both of which have introduced their own digital nomad visas recently.
Taiwan provides digital nomads with access to beaches, national parks, famous night markets, and old temples.

Requirements For Digital Nomad Visa
Applicants must be nationals of nations that do not require visas, like the United States, in order to be eligible for Taiwan’s digital nomad visa.
Having obtained a digital nomad visa from another nation is one prerequisite for candidacy.
Candidates who are 30 years of age or older must demonstrate that they made at least $40,000 a year during one of the previous two years.
Candidates between the ages of 20 and 29 must provide documentation that they made at least $20,000 per year during one of the previous two years.
Tax certificates, like a W-2 or employer pay stub, can be used as evidence of income.
Documents that are required include a valid passport, proof of international health insurance, bank deposits demonstrating at least $10,000 each month for the previous six months, and documentation of prior experience working remotely (such as a work contract or resume) are all required.
