Skoda has officially unveiled the Peaq, its new flagship electric SUV that combines long driving range, premium features, and practical seven-seat accommodation. Positioned at the top of Skoda’s global EV lineup, the Peaq is designed to compete with premium electric SUVs such as the Kia EV9, Hyundai Ioniq 9, and Volvo EX90.

Skoda Launches New Electric SUV With 647 Kms Range, 3-Rows Seating

The all-electric SUV marks an important milestone in Skoda’s electrification strategy and is also being evaluated for a potential launch in India through the completely built unit (CBU) route.

Up to 647 km Driving Range

The Peaq will be offered in three variants – 60, 90, and 90X. The base 60 variant features a 63 kWh battery pack with a claimed WLTP range of 459 km. The mid-spec 90 version gets a larger 91 kWh battery and delivers the highest claimed range of 647 km on a single charge. The top-end 90X uses the same battery but adds dual-motor all-wheel drive, offering up to 613 km of range.

The 91 kWh battery supports DC fast charging, allowing a 10% to 80% charge in around 28 minutes using a 199 kW charger.

Spacious Seven-Seater Design

At 4,874 mm long with a wheelbase of 2,965 mm, the Peaq is Skoda’s largest production vehicle to date. Built on Volkswagen Group’s MEB electric platform, the SUV offers three rows of seating while maintaining impressive practicality.

Boot space stands at 299 litres with all seven seats in use and expands to 935 litres when the third row is folded. The SUV also includes a 37-litre front trunk (frunk), adding extra storage space.

Premium Cabin Loaded With Technology

Inside, the Peaq features a minimalist dashboard with a 13.6-inch portrait touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, dual wireless phone chargers, a panoramic sunroof, a 16-speaker Sonos audio system, and USB charging ports across all three rows.

Higher variants also offer massage seats, an augmented reality head-up display, digital key support, vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability, and an optional Relax Package that includes powered leg rests and wellness modes.

Safety and Performance

The Peaq comes equipped with 10 airbags as standard, a 360-degree camera, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), auto-park assist, and integrated windscreen washer nozzles built into the wipers.

Performance varies across variants. The top-spec 90X produces around 299 bhp through a dual-motor AWD setup, while the 90 and 60 variants use single-motor rear-wheel-drive configurations producing up to 286 bhp and 204 bhp respectively.

Could It Come to India?

Skoda Auto India has confirmed that the Peaq is under evaluation for the Indian market. If launched, it is likely to arrive as a CBU import, placing it in the premium electric SUV segment alongside rivals like the Kia EV9. While no launch timeline has been announced, company executives have indicated that bringing more of Skoda’s global EV portfolio to India remains a priority.

With its long range, premium features, spacious cabin, and cutting-edge technology, the Peaq represents Skoda’s most ambitious electric vehicle yet and signals the brand’s growing focus on premium electric mobility.

Summary

Skoda has unveiled the Peaq, its flagship seven-seat electric SUV, offering up to 647 km of claimed range, three battery options, and a premium technology-packed cabin. Built on the MEB platform, the SUV features fast charging, advanced safety systems, and up to 935 litres of boot space. Skoda is also evaluating the Peaq for an India launch through the CBU route.
