There is a piece of good news for the smartphone enthusiasts as the South Korean electronics major, Samsung seems to be all set to release its first tri-folding smartphone which is a device that can fold and unfold twice reportedly.

Samsung Tri-Fold Smartphone Expected To Launch On December 5th

The Launch Of Galaxy Z TriFold

Considering its recent teasing event, Samsung will fully unveil the Galaxy Z TriFold on December 5 as per the rumors.

We already know that the Galaxy Z TriFold will feature a 10-inch main display and a 6.5-inch cover screen, making it one of Samsung’s most ambitious foldable phones to date.

The brand is further set for a limited initial launch, with the US being the only Western market currently slated to get it.

It appears that things are changing with this launch but one thing will remain consistent with other flagship Galaxy launches, which is the TriFold, which will be sold both through carriers and as an unlocked model in the USA.

When it comes to the pricing, the smartphone is expected to cost around $3,000 (roughly Rs. 2,66,00) which reflects the complexity of the design.

Now, this smartphone seems close to an official debut, after years of patents and speculations considering the US firmware testing already in progress.

Firmware Testing Commenced

So far, Samsung appeared to be testing firmware only for the carrier-locked variant (SM-F968U) of the device.

However, recently SamMobile confirmed that firmware testing for the unlocked variant—model number SM-F968U1—is now underway as well.

Although, firmware testing kicking off this late is a little unexpected for a phone who is set to launch in less than a month.

It is noteworthy here that the TriFold is a major device for Samsung, the smartphone brand has likely been trying to keep it under wraps for as long as possible.

So there are chances that the testing may have begun earlier but the company might have managed to keep it under the radar.

Whatever be the case, the thing that matters is that the Galaxy Z TriFold’s debut is closer than ever.

In the meantime, Samsung fans in the selected countries are getting it at launch and it will soon be able to pick one up.

When that happens, they will definitely be parting with a good chunk of the hard-earned money.
