Samsung has unveiled its second-generation AI model, Gauss 2, designed to elevate device performance and operational efficiency. Available in three variants—Compact, Balanced, and Supreme—each version caters to specific needs, ranging from on-device efficiency to advanced problem-solving.
- Compact: Lightweight and optimized for minimal computational power.
- Balanced: A middle ground offering enhanced performance without sacrificing efficiency.
- Supreme: Built on Balanced with a “mixture of expert techniques,” capable of handling specialized tasks.
Enhanced Capabilities Across Devices
Gauss 2 promises a performance boost of 1.4 to 3 times compared to its predecessor, depending on the variant. Supporting multiple programming languages and interactions with 9 to 14 humans, the model is already transforming Samsung’s internal processes. Over 60% of the company’s DX division developers now utilize Gauss 2 for tasks such as coding, email generation, and text summarization.
The model is also deployed in Samsung’s call centers to analyze and summarize customer interactions, highlighting its adaptability across domains.
Future Device Integration
Although Gauss 2 will not feature in the upcoming Galaxy S24 FE, Samsung plans to incorporate it into future devices. Potential applications include automated settings adjustments, which could replace traditional menu navigation, making devices more intuitive and user-friendly.
