Galaxy Ring May Work With Non-Samsung Android Phones
Samsung has suggested during recent public showcases that its newly announced Galaxy Ring – a sleek health band with fitness and wellness tracking – would likely support pairing not just with the company’s own Android phones, but also rival non-Samsung models running Google’s OS.
This interoperability with Android smartphones beyond Galaxy devices mirrors capabilities already offered in Samsung’s Galaxy Watch portfolio, enhancing accessibility.
Apple iPhone Sync Ruled Out Though
However, Samsung has clearly negated, at least currently, the possibility of the Galaxy Ring’s features and collected user data getting integrated into Apple’s ecosystem or iPhones.
It has revealed different Galaxy Ring sizes sporting divergent battery capacities though falling in the 10-20mAh range generally. Color and size flexibility aids personalization.
Likely to sync across non-Samsung Android mobiles
With Samsung also highlighting that the Ring and Watch may collaborate intelligently in fetching granular metrics from each other to enrich insights, the versatility and compatibility claims signal its broader ambitions of finding appeal among open OS users amid hardware diversity.
But for iPhone users focused on health tracking via wearables, lack of cross-platform flexibility may play spoilsport.
