The Bengaluru Namma Metro’s Yellow Line, which PM Narendra Modi will formally inaugurate on August 10, appears to be commencing it’s operations ahead of its August 15 deadline, reportedly.

It seems that the PM Narendra Modi will be inaugurating the 19.15-km metro corridor on Sunday as their passenger services beginning the next day.
Ahead of its inauguration, the Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar travelled by Namma Metro’s Yellow Line on Tuesday.
With this launch, the Rs 7,610-crore line will connect the RV Road with Bommasandra via Silk Board Junction and Electronics City.
The said metro lines construction was already completed in late 2023, but the launch was delayed due to a shortage of trains and statutory clearances.
They are planning to run three driverless trains which will run at a frequency of 25 minutes, connecting all 16 stations.
On the subject of the inauguration date, “the Chief Minister and I had requested the PM to inaugurate the Yellow Line, and he gave time now. The state has an equal share in it.”
Namma Metro Yellow Line Stations, Frequency & Other Information
This newly constructed Yellow Line covers a distance of 19.15 km from RV Road to Bommasandra and during its journey it covers 16 stations.
The list of stations includs RV Road, Ragi Gudda, Jayadeva Hospital, BTM Layout, Central Silk Board, Bommana Halli, Hongra Sandra, Kudlu Gate, Singa Sandra, Hosa Road, Beratena Agrahara, Electronic City, Infosys Foundation Konappana Agrahar, Huskur Road, Hebba Godi and Bommasandra.
This train will start it’s journey at 5 am and the last one will run at 11 in the night, which is the same as the operational hours for the rest of the network as per the information provided by the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL).
There will be three driverless train sets on the network initially and they are planning to run this metro at 25-minute intervals.
Coming to fair, they are planning to charge maximum fare of ₹90 while it will start at ₹10 on this line.
So far, BMRCL has invested ₹5,057 crore to build this Yellow Line.
It is anticipated that the daily ridership for the Yellow Line is expected to be around 25,000 passengers, with an expected daily revenue of ₹10-15 lakh after its launch.
It will be a “landmark moment for Bengaluru South” when the PM opens the operations according to BJP MP Tejaswi Surya.
