Reliance Jio Launches India's Cheapest Laptop At Rs 16,499 With 11-Inch Display & JioOS!

On July 31, Reliance Retail unveiled the JioBook in India, a laptop with an 11-inch HD screen and an octa-core processor. 

The company positions the device as a learning companion and a platform for cloud computing, boasting an eight-hour battery life with regular usage.

Reliance Launches 11-Inch Laptop: All You Need To Know About JioBook

Boasting an 11-inch HD display and powered by an octa-core chipset, the JioBook is being hailed as the country’s “first learning book.” 

Starting from August 5, interested customers can purchase the JioBook for ₹16,499 through Reliance Digital’s online and offline stores, as well as Amazon.in.

As per a Reliance spokesperson, “We are dedicated to introduce innovative products that empower individuals in their learning journey. The all-new JioBook is our latest offering catering to learners of all ages with its advanced features and seamless connectivity options. We believe JioBook will revolutionize the way people learn, opening new opportunities for personal growth and skill development.”

Specifications and Features

The JioBook operates on JioOS, the company’s proprietary advanced operating system. It boasts 4G-LTE and dual-band WiFi capabilities, providing an intuitive interface along with 75+ keyboard shortcuts, trackpad gestures, screen extension, wireless printing, and multi-tasking screens. Additionally, JioOS comes with integrated chatbot functionality, access to educational content through the Jio TV app, and leading gaming titles available through JioCloudGames.

A noteworthy feature is JioBIAN, which offers a “ready coding environment,” enabling students to learn coding in languages like C/C++, Java, Python, and Pear.

Design

In terms of design, the JioBook sports a sleek matte-finish with an ultra-slim body, weighing a mere 990 grams. Under the hood, it packs a 2.0 GHz octa-core processor paired with 4GB LPDDR4 RAM and 64GB of storage capacity, expandable up to 256GB using a micro SD card. The laptop is equipped with an Infinity keyboard, a large multi-gesture trackpad, and in-built USB/HDMI ports.

Battery

Regarding battery life, the exact capacity remains undisclosed, but Jio claims that the laptop can last up to 8 hours on a single charge. For video conferencing and communication purposes, the JioBook is equipped with an HD webcam featuring stereo sound.

With its emphasis on learning and education, the JioBook aims to provide students of all ages with an efficient and user-friendly platform to explore diverse subjects. By integrating advanced features and fostering a seamless learning experience, Jio hopes to make a significant impact on the education landscape in India.
