Recently, Xiaomi sub-brand Redmi started teasing the Redmi K70 series via multiple posts on Weibo.
But now, the company has finally confirmed the launch date of the Redmi K70 series.
Redmi K70 series Launch
On 23 November, the smartphone maker announced that it will unveil the Redmi K70 lineup on November 29 in China at 7PM local time.
Not only that, the Xiaomi China website also has put up a promotional banner for the launch event.
Here, the above referred Redmi K70 series includes three smartphones including Redmi K70, Redmi K70E, and Redmi K70 Pro.
We are expecting Redmi to divulge more about the Redmi K70 series in the lead-up to the November 29 unveiling.
It appears that the Redmi K70 series has been teased to launch in China as a successor to the company’s Redmi K60 lineup.
Expected Specifications Of K70 Series
Prior to this, Xiaomi has teased several specifications of the Redmi K70E, whereas leaked details of the base Redmi K70 have surfaced online.
As per this, The K70E is confirmed to come with the Dimensity 8300-Ultra SoC, 5,500 mAh battery, 90W charging, and 12-bit 1.5K screen having 1,800 nits peak brightness.
This series’s Redmi K70 Pro will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip.
So far, Redmi hasn’t revealed what SoC the vanilla K70 will have under the hood.
However, according to Geekbench, it will have the Dimensity 8300 chip.
Moving ahead, the posters shared by the company online, a Redmi K70 model is teased in black color option with a triple rear camera module.
Please note here that the exact model of the teased handset or the monikers of all the phones in the series has not yet been officially confirmed.
In the recent announcement, Redmi confirmed the launch of the Redmi K70E and teased some of its key specifications.
According to this, the phone will be powered by the newly launched MediaTek Dimensity 8300-Ultra SoC and feature a 1.5K display with a peak brightness level of 1,800nits and a high-frequency PWM dimming rate of 1,920Hz.
The handset will be shipped with the new Xiaomi HyperOS and pack a 5,500mAh battery with 90W fast charging support.
The company claims that the handset will measure 8.05mm in thickness.
Meanwhile, Xiaomi China President Lu Weibing also took to the Chinese microblogging site recently to tease the launch of the Redmi K70.
Although, he did not divulge any details but said that as Redmi, the Xiaomi sub-brand, celebrates its 10-year anniversary, the Redmi K70 will be introduced to the public.
In another development, Weibing mentioned that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC may soon replace the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 chipset as a popular choice for phone makers.
These closely timed posts led to speculations of the base Redmi K70 model being powered by the second-generation Snapdragon 8 processor, let’s see how it comes in future.
