With the target to finish by work on the Indore-Hyderabad, the work is completed by 70% and shall complete by 2025. Major cities of Madhya Pradesh and Telangana shall be connected via this new expressway.
Indore-Hyderabad Expressway to Cut Travel Time by 8 Hours, Boost Logistics Hub
As per the officials, this road shall also connect the aforementioned two states with Maharashtra. The travel time between Indore and Hyderabad will also be cut down by 8 hours. At present, the journey time between the two cities is 18 hours.
The officials believe that the same shall turn out to be a boon for Indore, since it will help Madhya Pradesh emerging as a big logistics hub.
Once it is completed, the distance between 2 big cities shall be reduced by 150 kms. The stretch is a 713 kilometre project, connecting prominent cities of other states. The stretch would pass through Ichhapur, Muktainagar, Jalgaon and Akola. It will directly connect Hyderabad via Burhanpur, Jalgaon and Nanded. A report by NBT, Madhya Pradesh will be directly connected to Maharashtra and Hyderabad.
The report added that it is at the cost of Rs 15 thousand crores that the construction of the Indore-Hyderabad Expressway is being established.
Government Approves Upgrade of Vijayawada-Hyderabad Highway to 6 Lanes, GMR Infra Exits Early
On the other side, the central government has approved the upgrade of the Vijayawada-Hyderabad National Highway from 4 lanes to 6. For this, an agreement has been reached between National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and the current road maintenance contractor, GMR Infra, for an early exit from the project, which is nearly a year before the contract’s end.
New tenders will soon be issued for the six-lane expansion work. Meanwhile, the GMR Infra will be paid compensation for exiting the project early.
