Indian Railways is set to enhance connectivity from Pune with the launch of four new Vande Bharat Express trains, according to a report by The Times of India. These new routes will connect Pune with Shegaon, Vadodara, Secunderabad, and Belagavi, bringing the total number of Vande Bharat trains operating from Pune to six. Currently, the city is served by two such trains running on the Pune-Kolhapur and Pune-Hubballi routes.

Key Halts, Features, and Fares of Pune’s New Vande Bharat Routes

The Pune–Shegaon Vande Bharat Express is expected to stop at key stations such as Daund, Ahliyanagar, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, and Jalna. The Pune–Vadodara route will likely halt at Lonavala, Panvel, Vapi, and Surat, aiming to cut travel time from nine hours to around six to seven. The Pune–Secunderabad route will connect major IT and educational hubs, with proposed stops at Daund, Solapur, and Kalaburagi (Gulbarga). Meanwhile, the Pune–Belagavi train is likely to halt at Satara, Sangli, and Miraj.

Ticket prices for the new routes are expected to range between Rs 1,500 and Rs 2,000, depending on the route and class. All trains will feature standard Vande Bharat amenities, including ergonomic seating, automatic doors, Wi-Fi, modern restrooms, and advanced safety features.

Vande Bharat Sleeper Train Planned for Pune-Nagpur Route

Additionally, plans are underway to introduce a Vande Bharat Sleeper train between Pune and Nagpur. However, official schedules and frequency details for all the new trains are yet to be finalized. This expansion is expected to boost regional connectivity, reduce travel time, and provide a modern, comfortable travel experience for passengers.
