On 28th December 2024, the railway administration announced the addition of four new Vande Bharat Express trains from Pune, bringing the total number of such trains to six. This initiative aims to greatly improve connectivity, offering Punekars faster and more comfortable travel options.

New Vande Bharat Express Routes to Boost Pune’s Rail Connectivity

Pune is currently served by two Vande Bharat Express trains, which operate on the Pune-Hubli, Pune-Kolhapur, and Mumbai-Solapur via Pune routes. The addition of four new trains will reduce travel time to several other destinations, providing passengers with greater convenience.

The Vande Bharat Express trains will soon operate on newly announced routes, including Pune-Shegaon, Pune-Vadodara, Pune-Secunderabad, and Pune-Belagavi. While the exact start dates have not yet been disclosed, these services are expected to begin shortly. The initiative is aimed at enhancing the efficiency and smoothness of rail travel for both residents and visitors.

Vande Bharat Express Ticket Prices Across Routes

Ticket prices for the existing Vande Bharat Express trains depend on the route and coach type. For example, on the Pune-Kolhapur route, a standard seat costs ₹560, while a special coach ticket is priced at ₹1,135. This train runs three times a week, on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. On the Pune-Hubli route, ticket prices are ₹1,530 for standard seating and ₹2,780 for the special coach.
