Punjab National Bank (PNB) has issued a notification urging customers to update their Know Your Customer (KYC) details before August 8, 2025, to ensure uninterrupted banking services. This directive aligns with guidelines from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), which mandates regular KYC compliance to safeguard against illegal activities such as money laundering and terrorist financing.

PNB Will Shut Down Accounts Whose KYC Still Incomplete After Aug 8

KYC Update Mandatory for Pending PNB Accounts Before June 30, 2025

KYC, or “Know Your Customer,” is a verification process through which banks confirm the identity of their clients. It helps maintain transparency in financial systems while protecting both the institution and the customer. PNB has clarified that this update is required only for customers whose KYC information was still pending as of June 30, 2025.

To comply with the KYC update, customers must provide valid identity proof, address proof, a recent passport-sized photograph, PAN card or Form 60, income proof, and a mobile number (if not already linked). These documents can be submitted at any PNB branch. Additional or updated KYC details may also be required as per the customer’s profile.

Multiple KYC Update Options Available to Avoid Service Disruptions at PNB

Failure to update KYC details by the deadline could lead to restrictions on account activity, including suspension of internet banking, blocked withdrawals, or limited transaction capabilities. To avoid such disruptions, PNB is offering several ways to complete the process.

Customers can either visit a local branch, use online platforms such as PNB ONE or Internet Banking Services (IBS) if eligible, or send the documents via registered email or post to their base branch. These options aim to simplify the process and ensure timely compliance for all account holders.

Summary:

Punjab National Bank has asked customers with pending KYC as of June 30, 2025, to update their details by August 8 to avoid service restrictions. Required documents include ID proof, address, PAN/Form 60, and photo. Updates can be done via branch visit, online platforms, or by sending documents through email or post.
