Alakh Pandey, founder of Physics Wallah, has witnessed a dramatic 223% surge in his net worth over the past year, reaching ₹14,510 crore, according to the Hurun India Rich List 2025.

With this rise, he has surpassed Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, whose wealth is estimated at ₹12,490 crore.
The Allahabad-born entrepreneur now ranks among the fastest wealth creators in the country.

Pandey’s co-founder, Prateek Maheshwari, also recorded an identical 223% increase in net worth, taking his wealth to ₹14,520 crore, highlighting Physics Wallah’s rapid growth.
Despite the company’s success, Physics Wallah continues to operate at a net loss, though the losses have significantly narrowed.
The edtech firm reported a reduced loss of ₹243 crore in FY25, down from ₹1,131 crore in FY24.
Revenue grew to ₹2,886 crore in FY25, up from ₹1,940 crore the previous year.
The Hurun report remarked, “The duo’s wealth surge underscores the strong growth trajectory of Physics Wallah, which started from Allahabad and Ajmer.”
Shah Rukh Khan Enters Billionaire Club with 71% Wealth Increase
Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan also achieved a financial milestone by entering the billionaire club with a 71% rise in his wealth.
His production house, Red Chillies Entertainment, posted a net profit of ₹85 crore in FY23.
The phenomenal success of Jawan further boosted Khan’s earnings.
The film, made on a ₹300 crore budget, grossed more than ₹1,160 crore worldwide, as per Sacnilk data.
Physics Wallah is now gearing up for a ₹3,820 crore Initial Public Offering (IPO).
The IPO will include a fresh issue worth ₹3,100 crore and an offer for sale of ₹720 crore.
Founders Alakh Pandey and Prateek Boob will each sell shares worth ₹360 crore in the offering, according to PTI reports.
The IPO is being managed by major investment firms such as Kotak Mahindra Capital, JP Morgan India, Goldman Sachs India, and Axis Capital.
The company is backed by prominent investors including Hornbill, WestBridge Capital, and GSV Ventures.
Physics Wallah had earlier filed a confidential pre-IPO document with SEBI and has since received approval.
