OnePlus has launched OxygenOS 16 in India, based on Android 16, bringing a suite of new features focused on AI integration, smoother performance, and enhanced customization.

Smooth and Responsive Animations
OxygenOS 16 introduces Parallel Processing 2.0 and the FlowMotion animation engine, enabling smoother transitions by starting new actions before previous ones finish. This improves app launches, gestures, and system-wide responsiveness for a fluid user experience.
Customizable Interface and Lock Screen Enhancements
The update includes Flux Theme 2.0, allowing users to add motion photos or video wallpapers and customize the lock screen with widgets arranged vertically or horizontally. Full-screen Always On Display (AOD) supports deeper personalization, with Gaussian blur effects and rounded corners throughout the UI.
Fluid Cloud and Smart Notifications
The Fluid Cloud feature delivers live alerts from apps like Spotify, sports, and food delivery directly on the lock screen. Native apps such as Clock and Calculator have a refreshed look with translucent menus and rounded UI elements.
AI-Powered Features: Plus Mind and Google Gemini Integration
A highlight of OxygenOS 16 is the integration of the Plus Mind AI hub with Google Gemini. Users can save images, record voice notes up to one minute by holding the Plus Key, take long screenshots, and ask AI questions about captured content. Plus Mind intelligently organizes saved data, aiding productivity and contextual assistance.
Enhanced Productivity and Creative Tools
AI Writer now supports mind mapping, chart generation, and social media caption creation. Image editing tools like AI Portrait Glow and AI Perfect Shot use intelligent lighting and composition adjustments to enhance photos.
Compatibility and Rollout
The update will initially roll out in India starting with flagship models like the OnePlus 13 series, followed by other recent OnePlus phones and tablets. Users can access the update through beta programs before the full release.
