Strengthening Margins and Market Position

Aggarwal said integrating the Bharat Cell will reduce costs and improve profitability by cutting reliance on imports. “When our cell comes in, gross margins will go up,” he told NDTV Profit. The move aligns with Ola’s broader strategy of vertical integration, making the company the only one in India to commercially produce its own EV cells.

Expanding EV Lineup with New Technologies

Ola also showcased the Ola Pro Sport scooter equipped with the Bharat Cell. As part of its Gen 3 initiative, the company introduced ferrite motor technology that replaces rare earth magnets, a material sourced from limited countries. The new motors are expected in vehicles by the third quarter of FY2025, providing a more sustainable alternative for future EVs.

AI-Powered MoveOS6 for Smarter Vehicles

The company further unveiled its MoveOS6 software, which will roll out in January 2026. The AI-enabled system will feature a voice assistant, collision alerts, blind spot detection, and multi-language support. It can also guide users on optimising battery life, enhancing the overall riding experience and safety of Ola’s EVs.

Prototype of Diamond Head Motorcycle

Capping its announcements, Ola revealed the Diamond Head electric motorcycle prototype, slated for a mid-2027 launch under ₹5 lakh. The high-performance bike will feature remote summon technology and achieve 0–100 kmph in just two seconds, showcasing Ola’s ambition to redefine electric two-wheelers globally.

Conclusion

With the integration of Bharat Cell, introduction of ferrite motors, and advanced software, Ola Electric is reinforcing its commitment to innovation, cost efficiency, and India’s self-reliance in EV technology.
