The Noida International Airport (NIA) is expected to begin operations by April 2025, with plans to offer 60 domestic flights and international connections to Zurich, Singapore, and Dubai. Air travellers have reason to celebrate as the airport gears up to launch flight services in the first half of 2025. A major milestone was reached on December 9, 2024, when an Indigo aircraft successfully landed during a test at the airport. Authorities are now optimistic about the launch of both domestic and international flights, provided everything proceeds as planned. Sources suggest that the airport might launch its first flight as early as April 17, 2025.
“Noida International Airport to Launch in April 2025”
The NIA has announced that the airport will begin operations in April with 60 domestic flight services. Agreements have already been signed with airlines such as Indigo and Akasa. These domestic flights will connect major cities like Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Varanasi, Chennai, Jaipur, Hyderabad, and Mumbai. Additionally, the airport plans to offer international flights to Zurich, Singapore, and Dubai, along with two dedicated cargo services.
Nearly complete, the airport’s construction is now only awaiting the finalization of the terminal building. Once civil works are finished, the focus will shift to interior decoration. The airport’s design is deeply inspired by India’s rich cultural heritage. The staircases are modelled after the ghats of Banaras, while the roof echoes the waves of the Ganga River. Courtyards, influenced by traditional havelis, allow for natural ventilation, and the intricately designed lattice windows add an elegant touch to the overall structure.
“Noida International Airport: Enhancing Travel and Boosting Regional Growth”
To enhance passenger convenience, a five-star hotel is also being built on the airport premises. The terminal’s interior design will reflect Indian culture, seamlessly blending tradition with modernity. With spacious, elegantly designed windows and waiting rooms featuring luxurious five-star amenities, the airport aims to offer travellers an international experience.
The airport is poised to alleviate the pressure on Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport, providing a more seamless travel experience. By creating job opportunities and fostering economic growth, it is also expected to accelerate the development of Noida, Greater Noida, and the broader western Uttar Pradesh region. Additionally, the new airport will help reduce traffic on Delhi’s roads, as passengers from Noida and nearby areas will have the option to fly from the Jewar airport.
