Tata Motors has introduced the facelifted version of the Nexon on September 1.

Bookings will begin on September 4, while official launch will take place on September 14.

Variants

It will be offered in 11 variants.

These include Smart, Smart+, Smart+ (S), Pure+, Pure+ (S), Creative, Creative+, Creative+ (S), Fearless, Fearless+, and Fearless+ (S).

The ‘+’ denotes optional packages bundled with several features, while (S) refers to trims with a sunroof.

There are also various color options such as Fearless Purple, Creative Ocean, Pristine White, Pure Grey, Daytona Grey, and Flame Red.

Facelift

The facelift brings changes to the overall design.

The front is inspired by the Tata Curvv and looks a lot more modern.

It gets a sleeker and sharper grille with a fresh set of LED DRLs along with a new split headlamp and bumper designs.

There is a new accent line and new alloy wheels which continue to be 16-inches.

The ground clearance remains the same at 208mm.

At the back the carmaker has introduced connected LED tail lights.

Interior

There have been some changes to the interior. 

Features include a new 10.25-inch floating infotainment screen with a 10.25-inch fully digital driver’s display, Land Rover-inspired gear lever, ventilated front seats, and a new two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo. 

The AC vents are now slimmer and more angular, and the dashboard has fewer physical buttons.

Safety

Safety features include six airbags as standard, ESC, three-point seat belts for all seats, ISOFIX as well as emergency and breakdown call assist.

Also included are front parking sensors, and a blind-view monitor.

Powertrain

The powertrain remains the same. 

It continues to be offered with a 120hp, 170Nm, 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine that now comes with a choice of four gearboxes – a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed AMT and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic (with paddle shifters).

The 115hp, 260Nm, 1.5-litre diesel unit continues to be paired with either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed AMT.

It gets a new seven-speed DCT gearbox with paddle shifters and is solely offered with the turbo-petrol mill. 

Price, competition

Prices will be announced on September 14, and it is expected to be priced between Rs 8 lakh-15 lakh.

Competition includes the Mahindra XUV300, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Maruti Suzuki Fronx, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Renault Kiger and Nissan Magnite.
