The National Capital Region (NCR) seems to be all prepared to witness for the first time a new Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) in place, as per the report.
Soon Travel Made Easy From Gurugram To Greater Noida
Here RRTS is a semi-high speed rail corridor, which will be stretching from Rajiv Chowk in Gurugram to Noida Sector-142 and Surajpur in Greater Noida while passing through Bata Chowk in Faridabad.
Basically, it is a 60-kilometer corridor projected to feature eight intermediate stations having an estimated total project cost of around Rs 15,000 crore.
Moving ahead, this RRTS corridor is expected to significantly reduce traffic congestion and air pollution in NCR after completion.
In this regard, the Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini recently met with Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal in Delhi where they discussed the expansion of the metro, along with the construction of the RRTS corridor.
Besides this, they have also explored options for extending RRTS connectivity between Sarai Kale Khan and Karnal, as well as extending the metro line from Gurugram to AIIMS in Badsa.
Improving Connectivity Across The Region
In addition to this, there is an ongoing assessment to connect IGIA with key NCR locations, such as Gurugram, Faridabad and Jewar Airport, through the RRTS network.
Basically this plan proposes two distinct lines, first one starting from Palam Vihar in Gurugram, to improve connectivity across the region.
While the other one talks about extension aims to connect Sarai Kale Khan to Dharuhera, Bawal, and Shahjahanpur in Rajasthan.
It is noteworthy here that the Haryana government will cover the expenses for the proposed metro line extension from Gurugram Sector-56 to Panchgaon.
The Centre is likely to approve this plan once receiving the project’s Detailed Project Report.
It is expected to include a 60-kilometer corridor which is projected to feature eight intermediate stations, with an estimated total project cost of around Rs 15,000 crore.
