On July 1, 2025, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw launched RailOne, a comprehensive mobile app designed to streamline and modernise passenger services under a single digital umbrella. Developed by the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS), this app integrates multiple railway-related services previously scattered across different platforms.

RailOne App: All-in-One Passenger Solution
Available on Android and iOS, RailOne offers a seamless user experience through single sign-on via mPIN or biometrics. It also supports existing RailConnect and UTS (Unreserved Ticketing System) credentials, eliminating the need to juggle multiple apps.
Here’s what RailOne offers:
- Live train tracking
- e-Catering and porter booking
- Last-mile taxi services
- Grievance redressal
- R-Wallet (Railway e-wallet) integration
- 3% discount on unreserved and platform tickets
While IRCTC will continue to handle reserved ticket bookings, RailOne has been officially authorised by IRCTC, placing it alongside other partnered commercial apps.
PRS Upgrade and Digital Push
Minister Vaishnaw also praised CRIS for its ongoing work to upgrade the Passenger Reservation System (PRS). The new PRS aims to be agile, multilingual, and scalable, with the capacity to process 1.5 lakh bookings and 40 lakh enquiries per minute. It will also include advanced features like:
- Fare calendar and seat preferences
- Customised booking for divyangjan (differently abled), students, and patients
New Mandates and Fare Revisions from July 1
Several new protocols have been implemented alongside the RailOne launch:
- Aadhaar-verified IRCTC IDs are now mandatory for Tatkal and emergency bookings to curb misuse by agents.
- First reservation chart will now be issued 8 hours (instead of 4 hours) before train departure.
- Fare hike:
- Non-AC Mail/Express: ₹0.01/km
- AC class: ₹0.02/km
- No change for suburban, second-class (under 500 km), or season tickets.
