New Amrit Bharat Train To Connect Anand Vihar With Howrah In 29 Hours

Indian Railways is set to introduce the Howrah–Delhi Amrit Bharat Express, a new-generation train designed to enhance long-distance connectivity between Eastern India and the national capital. Positioned as an affordable alternative to the Vande Bharat Express, the Amrit Bharat series focuses on delivering a modern, comfortable, and high-quality travel experience for passengers from lower and lower-middle income groups.

This initiative also marks a major step in Railways’ plan to modernize long-distance travel while keeping fares economical. The train will operate as 13065/Howrah–Anand Vihar Terminal Amrit Bharat Express and 13066/Anand Vihar Terminal–Howrah Amrit Bharat Express, covering one of the busiest and most commercially important routes in the country. Running via Bandel, Barddhaman, Asansol, Gaya, Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction, and Lucknow, the service strengthens connectivity across multiple high-traffic railway corridors.

Amrit Bharat Express Unveils Extensive 25-Station Route with Weekly Service

During its journey between Howrah and Anand Vihar Terminal (ANVT), the Amrit Bharat Express will feature 25 commercial stoppages, offering convenient boarding points for passengers across West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi NCR. Key halts include Durgapur, Asansol, Bhabua Road, Sasaram, Dehri, Gaya, Koderma, Dhanbad, Varanasi, Jaunpur City, Sultanpur, Lucknow, Shahjahanpur, Bareilly, Moradabad, Hapur, Ghaziabad and others, ensuring widespread regional connectivity.

The train will operate as a weekly service, with train number 13065 departing from Howrah every Thursday at 23:10 hrs and reaching Anand Vihar Terminal on Saturday at 02:50 hrs. In the return direction, train number 13066 will leave ANVT every Saturday at 05:15 hrs and arrive in Howrah on Sunday at 10:50 hrs. The service has been planned to cater to long-distance travellers with efficient overnight travel timings.

Amrit Bharat Express Offers Enhanced Ride Quality with 20-Coach Configuration

The Amrit Bharat Express will consist of 20 coaches, including multiple sleeper and general class coaches, designed to offer improved ride quality and passenger comfort. The rake will also have designated CTS and watering stations along the route to ensure seamless maintenance during its long journey.

With its modern design, extensive stoppages, and budget-friendly travel experience, the Howrah–Delhi Amrit Bharat Express is expected to become a key addition to India’s expanding network of upgraded long-distance trains, offering both affordability and enhanced travel comfort across two major regions.
