New Expressway Linking Bengaluru and Pune Construction Begins
The 700-kilometer expressway will connect three districts in Maharashtra (Sangli, Satara, and Pune) with nine districts in Karnataka (Bengaluru Rural, Tumkur, Chitradurga, Davangere, Vijayanagar, Koppal, Gadag, Bagalkot, and Belgaum).
An eight-lane highway will be built as part of the project, which is expected to cost more than ₹50,000 crore in total.
The expressway is anticipated to provide commuters with a great deal of ease by cutting the existing 15-hour journey time between Bengaluru and Pune to only 7 hours.
To increase travel efficiency, vehicles on the expressway will be permitted to reach a top speed of 120 kilometres per hour.
Land Acquisition To Start After NHAI Completes DPR
Land acquisition will start as soon as the NHAI completes the detailed project report (DPR), which is currently being prepared for the expressway.
To guarantee seamless passage, the expressway will have a number of infrastructure elements, including flyovers, overbridges, and interchanges.
The Pune-Bengaluru Motorway is anticipated to start construction soon and be finished by 2028.
By enhancing connectivity and infrastructure, the project is expected to accelerate economic growth in the connected regions.
The expressway’s increased connection is expected to result in significant growth for the real estate industry.
The expressway is anticipated to run beside Bengaluru’s second airport, though the specifics of the project have not yet been made public.
Pune To Mumbai Travel Time Will Reduce To 90 Minutes!
The Shivdi-Nhava Sheva Sea Link, also known as Atal Setu, will soon connect with a new expressway linking Solapur and Satara. This Rs 17,000 crore project will reduce the travel time between Mumbai and Pune by up to 90 minutes, transforming the region’s transportation infrastructure.
Currently, the journey between Mumbai and Pune takes around 3 to 4 hours, depending on traffic conditions. However, with the new expressway in place, this time is expected to be cut down to just 2 hours, offering faster and more convenient travel for commuters and transporters alike. According to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), the expressway will reduce travel time by 75 to 90 minutes, significantly enhancing the connectivity between these two important cities.
