Before its official delivery to India, the Boeing 737 MAX 9 underwent major modifications at EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg in Switzerland. The aircraft arrived at the facility in April 2023, where it underwent significant cabin enhancements and interior upgrades. This phase included several test flights between Basel, Geneva, and London to ensure the jet’s new features were functioning perfectly. These modifications not only added luxury elements but also enhanced the aircraft’s efficiency and overall performance. After completing these rigorous tests, the jet made its way to India in August 2024.
The Journey to India and Final Arrival
The delivery of Mukesh Ambani’s Boeing 737 MAX 9 was a momentous event. The jet took its final flight from Basel, Switzerland, to Delhi on August 27, 2024, covering a distance of over 6,200 kilometers in a nine-hour journey. The aircraft is now stationed at Delhi Airport and is expected to soon be transferred to Mumbai, where Reliance Industries is headquartered.
