From sizzling chole bhature to crispy parathas and the fiery punch of misal pav, Indian breakfasts are rich in flavour and tradition. Now, these beloved dishes are being recognised worldwide.

Global food guide TasteAtlas has featured all three items in its Top 50 Best Breakfasts in the World list, giving Indian cuisine a global stamp of approval.
Misal, Paratha, and Chole Bhature Rank High
As per the TasteAtlas rankings:
- Misal Pav – Ranked 18th
- Paratha – Ranked 23rd
- Chole Bhature – Ranked 32nd
These rankings were revealed via a post on TasteAtlas Instagram on June 8, with the caption, “These are the best breakfasts of the world!”
The list was topped by Turkey’s Kahvalti and Serbia’s Komplet Lepinja, but Indian flavours found a strong foothold in the global breakfast scene.
Mixed Reactions on Social Media
The post triggered a variety of reactions from food lovers around the world. While many celebrated the inclusion of Indian dishes, some questioned why idli and dosa—staples of South Indian breakfast—were left out.
One user wrote, “Idli and dosa?” while another commented, “Chole bhature is not common in Iran despite the listing.” A few were also surprised to see the English breakfast missing from the top 50.
Cultural Pride for Indian Foodies
The inclusion of these dishes reinforces India’s culinary influence and the diversity of its regional breakfast options. Be it Punjab’s hearty flavours or Maharashtra’s spice, India’s breakfast table continues to win hearts—now with international recognition to back it.
