In the month of February 2024, Maruti retained its top spot of being the best-selling Indian car brand. Second in the list is Tata, which beat Hyundai to clinch second spot. Other than Mahindra, MG, and Renault, all other brands have experienced have seen a dip in sales.
February 2024 Auto Sales Report
With 1.60 lacs units sold in month of February, Maruti Suzuki retained the top spot. Notably, this is more than the combined sales of other rival which include Tata, Hyundai & Mahindra. While the brand grew 9% YoY, it saw a MoM decline of 4%.
With a 20% YoY growth, Hyundai sold more than 50 thousand cars in the month of February 2024. Notably, it also saw a 12% MoM decline.
Mahindra registered a massive 40% YoY increase in car sales and sold 42,000 SUVs in February. It also saw a decline of 1.5%.
Clinching the 5th spot, Toyota overtook Kia and sold 23,000-odd units last month and despite a minor dip in MoM sales, it saw massive 53% YoY growth.
Mixed Performance Among Major Automakers
Kia saw a 15% MoM decline in February 2024 and 18% YoY decline and sold 20,000 cars in the month of February.
With a 17.5 % YoY rise in 2024, Honda saw a decrease of 1500 units in February as compared to January.
The only automaker to witness positive MoM and YoY sales in February 2024 is 18.5% and 8% respectively and sold more than 4,500 in February 2024.
Renault saw a 38% decline YoY and registered a MoM growth of 7% with 4000 unit’s sales.
Last in the list is Volkswagen with 3000 units of car sales with MoM and YoY being 7.5% and 9% respectively.
