Maruti Suzuki Will Launch Record 6 New Electric Cars, Including 1st Ever Electric SUV!

Maruti Suzuki eVX

The Maruti Suzuki eVX represents a significant milestone for the brand as it introduces its inaugural fully-electric vehicle in India. Revealed at the Auto Expo 2023, this mid-sized electric SUV showcases a forward-looking design that distinguishes it from the existing Maruti Suzuki lineup. Developed jointly by Suzuki Motor Corporation and its Indian subsidiary, the eVX boasts a sleek, coupe-like outline with notable dimensions (length: 4,300mm, width: 1,800mm, height: 1,600mm). Its bold front-end design highlights futuristic LED headlamps connected by a glossy black strip, forming a striking V-shaped element. The rear continues the coupe-like theme with LED taillamps connected by a double LED strip. Beneath the hood, the eVX houses a 60kWh battery pack, delivering an impressive driving range of up to 550km. With state-of-the-art technology and a captivating design, the eVX aims to rival competitors like the Hyundai Creta EV.

Suzuki Hustler EV

Originally a Kei car in Japan, the Hustler is making its debut as an all-electric offering in the Indian market. While specific details about the Hustler EV are limited, it’s expected to share its powertrain with the Wagon-R EV prototype that Maruti Suzuki has been testing since 2018. This compact electric car is likely to feature a sub-30kWh battery pack, providing an estimated driving range of close to 250km on a single charge. With its compact dimensions and SUV-inspired design, the Hustler EV is set to compete against electric vehicles like the Tata Tiago EV and the Citroen eC3, offering more choices in the affordable EV segment.

Maruti Suzuki Wagon R EV

Despite facing some initial challenges due to demand, the Wagon R EV is being actively tested on Indian roads and is expected to be launched in the coming years. The Wagon R EV features a slightly different design compared to its petrol-powered counterpart, with a distinctive blue Suzuki logo and design elements reflecting its electric powertrain. It’s likely to come equipped with a sub-30kWh battery pack, providing a driving range similar to the Hustler EV. The Wagon R EV aims to cater to those seeking an affordable electric hatchback.
