Maruti Suzuki has launched the Invicto MPV in India.
The flagship product, which is the first from the carmaker to be automatic only will be offered in two trims – Zeta+ and Alpha+ and two seating configurations.
It is built in Toyota’s Bidadi plant alongside the Toyota Innova Hycross which it is based on.
It is the eighth product in Maruti Suzuki’s Nexa dealership.
Exterior
It shares most of the design language with the Hycross albeit with some tweaks.
It gets a slightly different grille that although retains the same basic shape, gets a slightly different mesh.
Then there are two thick, horizontal chrome slats that extend into the headlights.
The headlights feature Nexa’s three-block signature daytime running lamps.
Coming to the profile, it differs from the Hycross in the design of the 17-inch alloy wheels.
Coming to dimensions, it measures 4,755mm in length, 1,850mm in width and 1,795mm in height with a wheelbase of 2,850mm.
Interior
The Invicto gets an all-black interior with Champagne Gold accents.
It has a boot space of 239 litres which can be expanded up to 690 litres by folding down the third row.
It is offered with seven- and eight-seat configurations.

Safety
Safety features include six airbags as standard, ABS, electronic parking brake, stability control and hill start assist.
Powertrain
The car runs on a strong-hybrid powertrain with a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder engine mated to an electric motor.
It produces 184hp.
As it is mated to an e-CVT it is the first hybrid-only and automatic-only Maruti Suzuki model.
It can go 0-100kph run in 9.5 seconds (claimed) and has a claimed fuel efficiency of 23.24kpl.
Pricing
The base Zeta+ trim with 7 seat configuration costs Rs 24.79 lakh.
The Zeta+ 8 seat variant costs Rs 24.84 lakh.
Finally, the Alpha+ 7 seater comes at Rs 28.42 lakh.
Competition
It is going to compete with only the Toyota Innova Hycross.
The Kia Carnival could have been a rival, however it is ruled out since it was recently discontinued.
The Invicto can be compared to similarly priced three-row SUVs like Mahindra XUV700 and Scorpio N, Hyundai Alcazar, MG Hector Plus and Tata Safari.
