To provide more flexibility and convenience for travellers, MakeMyTrip has launched a new part payment option for booking international flights. This feature, which has been particularly popular for tickets exceeding Rs 1 lakh, has received positive feedback from customers booking both short-haul and long-haul flights. The company anticipates this initiative will further improve the travel booking experience, reinforcing its commitment to offering user-friendly travel solutions.

MakeMyTrip Introduces Part Payment Option for Flexible Travel Bookings

Saujanya Shrivastava, Chief Operating Officer – Flights, Holidays & Gulf at MakeMyTrip, highlighted that the company’s mission is focused on simplifying travel and making it more accessible. The part payment feature is an innovative solution to the challenges travellers face, particularly by offering more Indians the ability to book international flights with greater ease and flexibility.

With the part payment option, travellers can confirm their bookings by paying only 10–40% of the total fare upfront, depending on factors such as the airline, travel route, and booking window. The remaining balance can be paid before the travel date or within 45 days of booking, without any extra charges. This option is especially advantageous for larger families or groups who may find upfront costs challenging. Once the full payment is made, customers can modify their confirmed bookings according to the airline’s fare rules.

Booking with Flexible Options like Zero Cancellation and Fare Lock

To further enhance the booking experience, MakeMyTrip offers several additional features. These include ‘Zero Cancellation,’ which covers cancellations due to unforeseen events, and ‘Fare Lock,’ allowing customers to secure flight prices for a small fee for 4 hours to 15 days. Additionally, the ‘Free Date Change’ option enables travellers to reschedule their flights up to two hours before departure, providing even more flexibility and convenience.

Summary:

MakeMyTrip has introduced a part payment option for international flight bookings, allowing travellers to pay 10-40% upfront and the rest later, offering greater flexibility. The company also provides features like Zero Cancellation, Fare Lock, and Free Date Change, enhancing convenience and simplifying the booking process for customers.
