Dawn breaks on the highway, where quiet currents begin to hum with the promise of a faster future.

Mahindra’s Charge_IN Launch and Vision

Illuminating the path toward a truly electrified future, Mahindra has inaugurated its first two Charge_IN ultrafast charging stations—one at Hoskote on NH75 along the Bengaluru–Chennai highway, and the other at Murthal on NH44, about 50 km from Delhi.

Mahindra Will Launch 1000 Ultra-Fast Charging Points In Next 2 Years

Each site houses two ultra-fast chargers, capable of powering up to four EVs simultaneously, marking a significant step toward building India’s high-speed EV charging backbone.

Now its two, but the ambition is to take the number further. So in future, Mahindra plans to establish 250 such stations, each equipped with 180 kW chargers, totalling over 1,000 charging points by 2027. This initiative is part of the company’s vision to UNLIMIT electric mobility through the Charge_IN network, in line with the government’s push to strengthen public EV infrastructure and accelerate adoption across India.

Chief Executive Officer of the Automotive Division & Executive Director of Mahindra Electric Automobile Ltd., Nalinikanth Gollagunta said “Electric mobility is about driving a larger shift towards cleaner, sustainable transportation. XEV 9e and BE 6, with their impressive 500 km real-world range, ensure drivers feel confident on long journeys. Meanwhile, with our ultrafast charging network by Charge_IN we will be creating an open and accessible network for all EV users. Our aim is to make long-distance travel with an electric vehicle effortless and reliable like conventional driving, thereby building customer confidence and accelerating India’s transition to electric mobility.”

Features, Accessibility, and Traveller Convenience

The exclusive 180 kW dual gun chargers designed to deliver faster, more convenient, and reliable charging for electric four-wheelers which includes the Mahindra eSUV portfolio – XEV 9e, BE 6 and upcoming XEV 9S from 20 to 80 percent in 20 minutes, eventually making the long-distance electric travel practical, efficient, and stress-free.

Strategically positioned along major highway corridors, each Charge_IN station will be co-located with the wayside amenities such as restaurants, cafes, making them natural halting points for travellers. So cherry on cake is that you can sip your coffee while your electric car gets charged.

In order to discover these charging stations, Mahindra eSUVs owners can access Charge_IN from Mahindra’s Me4U app which would also be used to charge and pay for the charging services. These fast-charging stations will also be accessible to other brands’ electric vehicle users through “Charge_IN by Mahindra” app, and through other leading aggregator platforms.

Now, only time will tell whether Mahindra transforms every highway stop into a symphony of journey and future, or otherwise. Until then…

Summary

Mahindra has launched its first two Charge_IN ultrafast EV charging stations, aiming to expand to 250 stations with over 1,000 chargers by 2027. Featuring 180 kW dual-gun chargers, the network enables rapid charging for Mahindra eSUVs and other EVs. Strategically located along highways with traveler amenities, it seeks to make long-distance electric travel effortless, efficient, and reliable, supporting India’s EV adoption.
