2025 Mahindra Thar Launched with Subtle Updates and Feature Enhancements

Minimal Exterior Tweaks

The 2025 Mahindra Thar retains its iconic boxy three-door design with modest styling updates. Notable changes include a body-coloured front grille, a rear parking camera integrated into the spare wheel hub, and a rear wiper with washer. Mahindra also introduces Tango Red and Battleship Grey as new paint options, while a silver bumper insert makes a comeback.

Interior and Feature Upgrades

Inside, the Thar gets several improvements aimed at comfort and usability. Power window switches have been relocated for easier access, grab handles now appear on the A-pillars, and a sliding centre armrest has been added. The steering wheel is updated and borrowed from Mahindra’s latest SUVs. The infotainment system grows to a 10.25-inch display, while rear passengers benefit from AC vents and additional charging ports. The fuel lid now opens via a dashboard button, eliminating the keyhole.

Engine, Transmission, and Drivetrain

Mechanically, the Thar remains unchanged. It continues with petrol (2.0L mStallion) and diesel (1.5L and 2.2L mHawk) engines, offering manual and automatic gearboxes, and RWD and 4×4 layouts. Suspension, brakes, and chassis remain the same, maintaining its off-road capability and rugged character.

Pricing and Variants

The updated Thar is priced as follows (ex-showroom):

  • D117 CRDe Diesel / 2.2L mHawk Diesel / 2.0 mStallion Petrol
    • AXT RWD MT: Rs. 9.99 lakh
