In order to manage the crowds at railway stations, Indian Railways has made special arrangements considering the commencement of Maha Kumbh 2025.
Special Security Arrangements During Mahakumbh
Under this initiative, Indian Railways has launched the ‘Ticket Aapke Dwar’ facility in view of making railway tickets more accessible.
While talking on this subject, the Gorakhpur Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) Pankaj Kumar Singh said, “Railway has made many special arrangements, like the provision for a mobile UTS (Unreserved Ticketing System) so that devotees can access the ticket counter wherever they are in Mahakumbh… The railway commercial staff will have a mobile UTS, in which a printer will be connected to their phone… This is an attempt to manage the crowd.”
This year, over 45 crore devotees are expected for the Mahakumbh which is being celebrated in India after 12 years.
During this Mahakumbh, all the devotees will gather at the Sangam, the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers, to take a holy dip believed to absolve sins and grant moksha (liberation), during this.
This Mahakumbh will be concluded by February 26.
Please note that the main bathing rituals (Shahi Snan) of this Mahakumbh will take place on January 14 (Makar Sankranti), January 29 (Mauni Amavasya), and February 3 (Basant Panchami).
Intensive Checking Campaign & Heightened Surveillance
In the meantime, Uttar Pradesh Police launched an intensive checking campaign under it to ensure the smooth and secure conduct of Mahakumbh 2025.
This campaign was launched under the leadership of Deputy Inspector General of Police Vaibhav Krishna (IPS).

According to the Deputy Inspector General’s instruction, all stations are in-charges to enhance vigilance in their respective jurisdictions and maintain a proactive approach to security.
Besides this special measures were implemented to prevent any untoward incidents and ensure public safety.
Further, the teams led by the Additional Superintendent of Police, Circle Officers, and Station In-charges conducted rigorous inspections of suspicious individuals, vehicles, and potential encroachments, under this campaign.
