New Special Vande Bharat Express to Connect Delhi and Patna for Festive Travel
It is a known fact that in a country so vast, the demand for train tickets during this period skyrockets between the routes of Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal.
In order to cater to the festive rush, the Indian Railways has introduced a new Special Vande Bharat Express between Delhi and Patna via Uttar Pradesh which shall run from October 30 onwards and the ticket booking has already commenced.
Notably, this is also the longest Vande Bharat Express route operational as of now and shall cover a distance of 1,000km as per the IRCTC ticket booking website.
Prior to this, the longest distance covered by Vande Bharat Express was 771 kilometres between Delhi to Varanasi.
As per the IRCTC website, the New Delhi-Patna Special Vande Bharat Express train journey completes in just 11.35 hours. The Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express that passes through the Patalipura junction takes 11.55 hours while the New Delhi-Rajendra Nagar (Patna) Tejas Rajdhani takes 11.30 hours.
The train runs every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday from New Delhi and every Monday, Thursday and Saturday from Patna to New Delhi. From New Delhi, the train departs at 8.25 AM and reaches Patna at 8 PM while from Patna, the train departs at 07:30 in the morning and reaches New Delhi at 7 in the evening.
Notably, the train does not have a sleeper class and has a chair car seating arrangement. The ticket for AC Chair car ticket costs Rs 2,575 per person whereas the Executive Chair Car ticket costs Rs 4,655 per person.
The special Vande Bharat train will start from New Delhi and will stop at Kanpur Central, Prayagraj Junction, Deendayal Upadhyaya Junction, Buxar, and Ara Junction before reaching Patna Junction.
Upcoming Vande Bharat Sleeper Train to Enhance Comfort on Delhi-Patna Route
Notably, as per earlier reports, the newly built Vande Bharat Sleeper train would be introduced between Delhi to Patna, though the date of its on the route is not yet confirmed.
Offering faster as well as more efficient travel options, Vande Bharat trains are designed to replace the older Shatabdi services.
The upcoming introduction of sleeper coaches will further improve the experience, providing greater comfort for long-distance travellers.
